25 Things About EKS

I know this is kind of long, but it’s worth reading.  Really!!

1.  I am growing up too fast!!  (at least that’s what Mom and Dad are saying these days)

2.  I cut a new tooth yesterday, and have another one on the way.  That makes four total, and they sure are cute.

3.  Two of my favorite people are Matt and Kinsey Perry.  Don’t know what it is about those guys, but they always make me smile!

4.  Mom and Dad think I’m going to be a little bit of a stinker.  Whenever I get into trouble, I smile and think it’s funny.

5.  I’m going through a biting phase right now.  I keep trying to bite Mommy and Daddy (maybe it’s because of #2) and then #4 happens.

6.  I went from crawling to pulling up to cruising really fast.  I’m all over the place now and might be walking before you know it.  I don’t think my folks are quite ready for that yet.

7.  I’m really sweet but try to hide it sometimes.

8.  I have oatmeal and applesauce almost every morning for breakfast.

9.  I LOVE to swing at the park.  Maybe Mom and Dad will get me my own swing some day (wink wink!)

10.  I think I’m going to have curly blond hair.  The longer it gets, the more curls appear.

11.  I’ve learned how to wave bye-bye.  Yesterday I waved to everyone I saw in Target and all the people eating at Arkansas Burger Co.

12.  I get the biggest kick out of dogs.  Solomon sure is big, but I get so excited every time I see him and I love it when he licks me.

13.  I think I have a crush on Paxton Page.  I mean, who wouldn’t?!

14.  I’ve been sick a lot the last few months.  Maybe that’s just the way it is with babies in the winter, but I’ve had at least 4 colds and ear infections in both ears twice now.  No fun.

15.  I really like trying new foods.  Some of my favorites are sweet potatoes, avacado, black beans, chunks of pears and peaches, and cheerios. Mmmmm!

16.  My new carseat is soooo much more fun than that infant thing.  I love being able to look out the window.

17.  I’m still not very good at sleeping, whether it’s nights or naps.  My parents have just had to come to grips with it.  Naps are completely random, lasting anywhere from 20 min. to 2 hrs.  And I wake up crying an average of three times each night.

18.  I don’t watch much TV, but I have discovered that I like The Backyardigans.  All that singing and dancing; it’s hard to pass up.

19.  I recently learned how to crawl over to my toy basket in the living room, pull up on it, and get out the toy I want to play with.  It’s nice being able to help myself.

20.  My daddy calls me Eekleberries.

21.  I like playing in forts built out of pillows from Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

22.  Bathtime is so much fun.  My Aunt Meg gave me some bath toys for Christmas and I love playing with them.

23. I can’t wait for spring to come.  I love playing outside so much, but it’s been too cold to do that much lately.

24.  I play really hard all day long.  But sometimes, when it’s time to take a breather, I like to snuggle on Mom or Dad’s shoulder for a second.  It’s usually just a second though.  Don’t want to give them the wrong idea!!

25.  I think I’d like a little brother to play with soon.

“Night Night”

Emma has made up a game.  It was all her idea.

One evening a week or two ago, Jacob and I were eating dinner on the couch.  To keep Em occupied while we were finishing up, J threw the throw pillows from the couch on the floor for her to play with.  For whatever reason, we’d never done that before.  Emma immediately started crawling all over them.  She was in a very playful mood, and at one point, she got right on top of a pillow and laid her head down for a few seconds, then looked up at us and grinned from ear to ear.  This went on for probably 20 minutes.  She’d hustle up to a pillow, then play “night night”.  And she’d always look up at us to make sure we were wathcing.  I love her new game for two reasons: 1) Em came up with it all by herself, 2) it’s one of the few moments when she is still, even if only for a second!
